Based in Sonoma County, LITE Initiatives motivates individuals, groups, businesses and even whole communities to live lightly and more efficiently. We focus on DIY knowledge and skill development, outreach, education and fun!

Our programs include Zero Waste Action, Community Bikes and Car-Lite.

Founded in 2001, our popular Zero Waste events include Car-Free Sundays, Clothing Swaps, GiftAways, Mending Cafés and Fix it Fairs. We were instrumental in starting the Zero Waste Sonoma Reuse and Repair Fairs and Russian River Rotary’s West County Fix It Fair, and collaborate with Community Market and the City of Cotati Climate Ready Fair.

Community Bikes is the only non-profit bike shop serving Central and West Sonoma County. Our friendly staff and volunteers repair donated bikes and sell discounted refurbished bikes. Located on Sebastopol Rd at Wright Rd in Santa Rosa, we also carry a wide variety of parts and accessories, and advise folks how to repair their bikes.
