Clementina “Sustainable Latina™” Martínez-Masarweh is a Climate Textile Literacy Educator and Circular Fashion Designer who advocates for California’s SB 707 Textile Recovery Act, specializing in upcycling, mending, repairing, and bringing microplastic awareness through an equity and environmental justice lens. She teaches Adult Education courses with the Mt. Diablo School District, where hands-on upcycling, mending, and creative reuse have driven measurable behavior change and career pathways in textile recovery. Her work focuses on expanding climate literacy and accessible circular solutions for frontline and BIPOC communities.
Trevor is a Program Manager at StopWaste helping people in Alameda County make and use more compost. He builds partnerships with urban farms, improves access to compost for community food systems, and provides technical assistance to expand on-site composting capacity for working lands and green spaces. And apparently, he manages compost research contracts.
Jessie Frietze-Armenta is the founder of Shred Cycle, a pre-seed circular materials startup reimagining how polyurethane waste is recovered and reused. A competitive skateboarder turned sustainability founder, she’s building scalable circular textiles from discarded skate wheels and production scrap to make sustainability the standard, not the exception. Jessie brings a background in environmental policy and sustainable consumer products, with an MBA from Loyola Marymount University.
Dr. Joanne Brasch is the Director of Advocacy and Outreach at the California Product Stewardship Council, an environmental nonprofit focused on producer responsibility for hard-to-manage products.
Matthew Schoen is senior at the University of California, Santa Barbara graduating with a BS in Environmental Studies in June 2026. He is the Founder and Executive Director of UCSB’s Shoe Recycling Program, overseeing the program’s year-round operations, stakeholder coordination, and public outreach efforts. Matthew also serves as Co-Chair of the UCSB Zero Waste Committee and as the Commissioner of Environmental Sustainability for UCSB Associated Students.
Caitlin Steele serves as the Director of Sustainability & Energy at San Francisco State University, where she has led campus-wide sustainability initiatives for more than 18 years. Her work includes directing the university’s climate action strategy, overseeing greenhouse gas reduction efforts, and managing the campus wide zero waste efforts.
Jordan has worked in the zero waste field in local government for over 17 years. Since 2011, he has worked at Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) where school programs have been a big component of his work and what he enjoys most about serving Castro Valley.
