The City of Napa owns the Napa Materials Diversion Facility (MDF) that receives and processes recyclable and compostable materials from the City itself as well as the broader region including materials from south Napa County. The MDF is a good example of a public/private partnership with the public ownership by the City with private operations currently handled under contract by Napa Recycling & Waste Services (NRWS).
